Tales From The Treehouse

The Sparrow, the owl ... in fact all those birds have left the treehouse, I can still hear them singing - but very faint now.  She once spoke of her cage she caught with tips of wings and sang so quiet he could not hear.  The girl is with you - she used to sing in your place but has now been silenced; a quiet has fallen, crushed berries, and the end is no longer there.  She fell.  She fell again and fainted, she might never wake up now stuck between awake and nothing, nothing more of frills and tales and reflections of peacock magic only a feather bed is left and she clings to it so hard it may turn back to silk in her hands, trickle through the gaps like all the rest and be gone.  No pity no longer - just leave her, she brought it all on herself.

It's hard and the bird she said this falling from so far up would hurt most, like when those little ones are learning to fly, which is strange because that's how you explained all this to me; teaching me to fly... so why can't I do it? why do I feel as though my wings were clipped like the crows at The Tower of London? or were you wrong and are you really teaching me how to fall? I guess that would be nice too because if I learn how to do it properly it will hurt less the next time.  Maybe the next time wont come.  I don't want to go, but I can't stay.

...we played at nature, this is our favourite... plum, flowers, burnt orange, butterflies, sea green velvet and berries.  Magpies make funny noises and I almost became road kill.  I like Autumn.

He sat for a long time, he looked me in the eye and told me he came because you're over there so he  thought he would keep me company just for a moment or two and then he went away...

... flew away, on his merry way and I was left still here while you are both flying.  It does not seem real anymore; my hands or face.  I want to run, but don't own a compass - maybe that's the point.  I miss you, and love you more than butterflies and compasses.

Too many ideas and thoughts: I prefer the ideas, they're the ones that keep the thoughts at bay.
She watched all the people in the real world, from a distance, then realised she wants to be even further away.  Remembering when you first told me and wondering how and now knowing and still wondering, but this time I have a plan, my own plan, a plan where you can come if you like; A vintage nick-nack boat in the woods and big fluffy bear-dogs in fields, secret tree-houses and giant tipis, candle light and midnight fires, no roads for miles and miles and miles, someone will be crying there one day, but they will be wrapped in crochet kisses.
